Hi everyone,

Today, I thought I’d share my latest book with you, Let’s Write a Six-Word Story or a Poem. It’s been a big process self-publishing this book. Let’s Write a Six-Word Story or a Poem is a workbook for teenagers and adults who want to have fun and get creative. It’s a wonderful way to strengthen your literacy skills and process your emotions. This Workbook features 100 nature writing prompts to pique your curiosity and spark your imagination. It’s also perfect for anyone with writer’s block to help them start writing again.

I thought I would use pictures from Pixabay but when I delved deeper into their license agreement I realized that I couldn’t use anything on their website because I would breach their agreement and copyright laws. I contacted a lawyer and he said the best thing to do was to email the photographers on Pixabay and ask them if I could use their photos. Choosing the photos was easy. There are so many beautiful nature photos. I emailed twenty photographers and waited months for some of them to get back to me. I got to talk to many lovely people from all over the world. Some people were happy for me to use as many photos as I wanted while other people refused. The trouble was, I only required a few photos from the people who said, yes. I still needed more photos and wondered what I could do. I started searching through all of my photos and decided to use some of them.

I finally had my manuscript completed and was ready to publish it. I wanted the Workbook to be in colour because it helps the reader to focus. Black and white photos lose their definition, especially when they are produced in large volumes for a book. However, colour photos make it more expensive to print. I asked Amazon if I could do a Kindle version to make it cheaper for anyone who wants to purchase it, but they advised me that I wouldn’t be able to because it’s a Workbook for people to write in.

Little did I know that after all my efforts, I wouldn’t be able to purchase it in Australia because Amazon doesn’t have coloured printers here. I found out later they don’t have them in Japan either. So, I purchased a copy of my book from the UK only to find that the toner had a malfunction on the last page which was of me. I turned out multi-coloured. Yikes! Lol. I started to doubt what I’d done. What if all the photos turned out like that when consumers bought my book? I was assured the problem was fixed and that it wouldn’t happen again. If you purchase it, please let me know if it happens to you. Fingers crossed, it doesn’t.

Also, if you’re not interested in crosswords or Sudoku and want to get creative and don’t know where to start, my Workbook would be perfect for you.

Until next time.
